Looking for an adventure off the beaten track with plenty of wildlife to spot, but still close to main towns, parks and amenities? This recovering bushland on a slope in the back of Caloundra West (which is a grazing ground for grey kangaroos) is perfect for you!

In 2026, more than 1,000 athletes, officials, volunteers and visitors will converge on the Sunshine Coast for the 2026 Australian Deaf Games following the success of a joint application between the Sunshine Coast Council and Tourism and Events Queensland to host this prestigious multi-sport event.

Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi peoples and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share. We wish to pay respect to their Elders – past, present and emerging, and acknowledge the important role First Nations people continue to play within the Sunshine Coast community.
