From sandy beaches to green fields, February is filled with plenty of summer sport events. Whether you are spectating or lining up as a competitor here are some major events happening this month.

QLD OzTag Junior State Cup

This weekend the Sunshine Coast Stadium will be busy with the QLD OzTag Junior State Cup playing over February 2-4. Each year our Junior State Cup continues to grow bigger and better. The 2024 Junior State Cup hosts teams from around Queensland from as far north as Cairns Crushers & Townsville Blackhawks to as south as the Tweed Coast Giants & everyone in between. This 3- day event showcases the very best talent from around Queensland with Divisions from U10’s Boys & Girls – U17’s Boys & Girls all battling it out to be crowned State Champions.

Caloundra Triathlon

On Sunday February 11, Golden Beach welcomes triathletes of all ages and abilities to Round 6 of the Pho3nix Queensland Tri Series for the 2023/2024 racing season.  The Caloundra event also doubles as the Qld Triathlon State Sprint Championships so all members can race for state champs bragging rights!

Golden Beach residents – please be aware of changed traffic conditions for the event.

Beach 5s Rugby

Last year at Mooloolaba Beach the Beach 5s put on quite the spectacle.

Beach 5s is a 5 aside sand-based competition based on modified rules of Rugby Union, Rugby League and Touch Football, with no lineouts, scrums or conversions. It’s the game you know – but not as you know it!

NRL Pre-season Challenge – Dolphins v Titans

Don’t miss the action at Sunshine Coast Stadium when the Dolphins take on the Gold Coast Titans in an NRL Pre-season Challenge. The clash on Sunday 18 February is sure to test out both teams before the 2024 season. Grab your tickets before it's sold out.
