Lions fans will have the chance to see the reigning Premiers in training mode and get up close to the 2024 and 2025 Premiership Cups.

The three-day camp running from 28–30 January will see Lions players visit a host of schools and local AFL clubs across the region, immersing themselves in the local community and holding an open training session at the Maroochydore Multisport Complex.

Lions General Manager Football, Danny Daly said the team was looking forward to getting back to the Sunshine Coast for the third year in a row.

“The elite facilities, weather and beaches all add up to making it a great few days. The players really enjoy getting amongst the community and visiting local footy clubs,” Mr Daly said.

Sunshine Coast Mayor Rosanna Natoli said she was looking forward to welcoming the Premiership winning Brisbane Lions AFL Team back to the Sunshine Coast for their pre-season training camp and fun activities with their fans at Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex.

“This team inspires so many locals, strengthening our connection to the game and each other and we can’t wait to see the energy they bring to our region again next year,” Mayor Natoli said.

“Returning for the third year in a row, with two Premiership Cups, reinforces that our region is well placed to offer the right kind of facilities, climate and community spirit for the Lions to train, play and stay on the Sunshine Coast.

“These camps bring excitement and inspiration to local fans and budding young players, and we’re proud to showcase what the Sunshine Coast can offer elite teams like the Lions.”

Lions Premiership forward and former Kawana Park Eagle, Ty Gallop said he was looking forward to the camp.

“It’s great to get back up home and see all the people get down to the training, we have a few appearances while we’re there and it’ll be good to get out and around the community where I grew up.

“Queensland’s come along way in terms of footy and especially the junior programs, I hope it inspires some of the young guys back home to have a crack and see what’s possible.”

Brisbane Lions Community Manager, James Dowling said community camp strengthens the connection between the club and community football.

“We’ll be delivering a combination of junior football clinics, a coaching education session, and a number of fan opportunities while on the Coast," Mr Dowling.

“We have a great support base across the Sunshine Coast and it is an important region for the club from a fan, talent and participation perspective.
