Following the recent Mitsubishi Motors NBL1 announcement that the Sunshine Coast will serve as the prestigious host for the NBL1 National Finals, encompassing all five conferences across Australia, the excitement is palpable.

The Sunshine Coast Council, in collaboration with Caloundra Basketball, is proud to present an exhilarating matchup between the Sunshine Coast Phoenix and the formidable Townsville Heat & Flames on June 1.

Adding to the anticipation, both Phoenix teams will be sporting throwback Caloundra Basketball heritage kits. This homage celebrates Caloundra Basketball's rich history, dating back to the establishment of the original courts in 1972. For over 52 years, Caloundra Basketball has been an integral part of the local community, fostering a love for the sport and nurturing talent.

The Caloundra Indoor Stadium, boasting a seating capacity of over 1000, promises an unforgettable atmosphere for hardcore Phoenix fans. Let's rally together and sell out the stadium, creating a thrilling environment to showcase our passion for basketball and to welcome the visiting teams.

Sunshine Coast Phoenix General Manager Sean Page said we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Sunshine Coast Council for their unwavering support in embracing basketball on the Sunshine Coast. Their dedication has played such a pivotal role in the flourishing success of Sunshine Coast Phoenix and its three clubs.

Get ready to witness basketball history unfold on June 1 at the Caloundra Indoor Stadium.
