The Sunshine Coast is set to come alive with colour, competition and community spirit as the 2025 Sunshine Coast Winter Bowls Carnival returns from July 4 to 18.

Now in its 61st year, this iconic event continues to grow in prestige and popularity, drawing more than 1,900 bowlers from across Australia and New Zealand.

Hosted by the Sunshine Coast District Bowls Association, the Carnival spans twelve tournaments across local clubs from the seaside to the hinterland.

With a $50,000 prize pool on offer, including $10 for every game won and major prizes for top performers, the stakes are high and the greens are ready.

This year’s feature match, “Over the Ditch”, will see Australia take on New Zealand in a Trans-Tasman showdown at Coolum Beach Bowls Club on July 9 at 12.30pm.

With Australia defending its two-year winning streak, the rivalry promises to be fierce and full of flair.

“This event helps deliver the Sunshine Coast Council’s Major Events Strategy, which aims to generate $86 million in economic benefit through increased visitation and local spending,” Cr Natoli said.

“It’s great to see our local clubs and communities thriving as a result.”
