Discover what’s happening in our Sunshine Coast community, the people and places making headlines.

Healthy Sunshine Coast is partnering with the Sunshine Coast Bushwalking Club to offer a series of guided bushwalks in September, helping residents explore local trails, connect with nature and support their health and wellbeing.

Explore peaceful bushland trails, spot local wildlife and discover diverse native vegetation just minutes from Caloundra's town centre. With family-friendly walks, dog-friendly tracks, picnic facilities and upcoming opportunities to celebrate wildflowers and nature-inspired art, it's the perfect destination for your next outdoor adventure.

Sunshine Coast sporting clubs will benefit from new and upgraded facilities as Sunshine Coast Council and the Queensland Government invest in community sporting infrastructure to support the region’s growing population and the delivery of major infrastructure projects linked to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Participants from 42 countries joined thousands of local runners, walkers, volunteers and supporters, with ages ranging from four to 84, celebrating the EVA Air Sunshine Coast Marathon Festival's 15th year on Sunday 2 August, 2026.

Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi peoples and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share. We wish to pay respect to their Elders – past, present and emerging, and acknowledge the important role First Nations people continue to play within the Sunshine Coast community.
