The sun is set to shine on Queensland’s favourite music festival which offers a rare chance to see world-class talent in our backyard – at bargain prices!

Bureau of Meteorology forecasts show the weather gods smiling on the Caloundra Music Festival, which brings more than 80 acts from throughout the nation and world to our picturesque Kings Beach.

Conditions through the weekend are expected to be perfect: sunny with minimums of 13C and tops of 26C with light winds.

Sunshine Coast Council Division 2 Councillor Terry Landsberg said the great line-up, vibe on social media and postcard spring weather was setting this weekend up as one to remember.

Cr Landsberg encouraged any locals who had not yet experienced the event to grab a ticket online or at the Box Office in Edmund Street, Kings Beach.

“It’s a rare chance to see stars and experience different music at home rather than having to travel to Brisbane or interstate,” Cr Landsberg said.

“Our festival offers a great family atmosphere in this beachside location and to win the Queensland Music Awards people’s choice award recently meant a lot to our event team of staff and volunteers.

“We are doing our best to showcase a wide range of music, not just one niche or genre or any one artist.

“There’s about 10 hours of live music non-stop each day, thanks to more than 80 performers scheduled over six stages.

“It’s great value considering the cost to see any headliner act on their own is well over $100 these days.”

Tickets are available online and at the Box Office in Edmund Street, Kings Beach.

Gate prices are effective from 6pm today (September 28) with day tickets ranging from $37 for kids, $83 for youth and pensions and $123 for an adult ticket.

Who are some of the more interesting acts?

A few acts that might not be well known but are sure to entertain will be Ampersand, Dumpstaphunk (US), Fools, Henry Catania and Jen Mize & the Rough n Tumble.

What are the session times?

Gates open 11.30am each day and close 10pm sharp each night. The full program is online or on the CMF APP where you can curate your day and favourite artists and set times.

What’s the situation with transport?

FREE public transport to and from the festival is available on event days.

What kinds of food and drink are available?

There are plenty of food options within the festival zone, from coffee and donuts to burgers, Brazilian barbecue fairly floss, falafel, fish and chips, gourmet dumplings, sno cones and tacos. Plus even more offerings at local venues surrounding the site. Check out the Festival APP for details.
