Hop, Twirl, Leap: Josephine’s holiday dance show

Join Josephine, the dancing kangaroo on a toe-tapping, hip-hopping holiday adventure the whole family will love. Live at The Events Centre, Caloundra on Wednesday 2 July.

Prima ballerina dressed as a kangaroo in a pink tutu dancing joyfully

Looking for something magical to do these school holidays? Look no further than Josephine Wants to Dance a toe-tapping, hip-hopping musical adventure perfect for the whole family.

Josephine is a kangaroo who loves to dance. Her little brother, Joey, tells her kangaroos don’t dance, they hop – but Josephine continues to point her toes and leap through the air. The prima ballerina, from the Ballet Company, twists her ankle and the understudy has a splinter in her toe.

Who can dance the lead role? Josephine’s talents are called upon to help save the day. Can she do it, and more importantly, does it matter that she’s a kangaroo?

Based on the beloved picture book by Jackie French and Bruce Whatley, this delightful stage adaptation is bursting with humour, heart and high-energy choreography. It’s a celebration of self-belief, creativity and following your dreams, no matter how big your tail is!
