Food, fun and fireworks this New Year’s Eve
A movie under the stars, delicious food and spectacular fireworks will provide the perfect way to ring in the New Year at an iconic Sunshine Coast beach.

King Beach Amphitheatre at Caloundra will transform into a vibrant hub of activity this New Year’s Eve with plenty for everyone to enjoy, including a screening of musical drama Sing face painting and an array of rides.
The event, proudly hosted by the Sunshine Coast Official Food Truck Association (SCOFTA) and the Sunshine Coast Council will start at 4pm and conclude at 10pm.
Sunshine Coast Division 2 Councillor Terry Landsberg shared his excitement about the event.
"Caloundra's New Year's Eve celebration is a highlight of our community calendar.
“It's a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, enjoy great food, watch a spectacular fireworks show and create lasting memories.
“Don't miss out on this fantastic family-friendly event,” Cr Landsberg said.
Foodie Highlights
Experience the incredible array of food trucks showcasing local street food from gourmet burgers to exotic Asian delights, there's something to satisfy every palate.
This event celebrates the vibrant food truck culture that SCOFTA champions, bringing diverse and delicious cuisine to the Sunshine Coast community.
Family Activities
For the little ones, there will be kids rides and face painting, ensuring they have a blast while you relax and soak in the festive atmosphere.
As the sun sets, grab a spot on the grass for a movie under the stars, starting at 7.45pm. It's the perfect opportunity for a family picnic, so pack your blankets and settle in for a cozy evening.
Fireworks Display
Watch the sky light up in a dazzling array of colours at 9.30pm, marking the end of 2024 and the beginning of a new year.
The event wraps up at 10pm, giving you plenty of time to head home and continue the celebrations.
