Discover the secrets behind your home’s history

Ever wondered about the history of your house? The Heritage Library team is here to help you discover your home’s heritage through a series of free workshops.

Every home has a story, and Sunshine Coast Libraries want to help you discover yours.

The House Heritage workshops, running between July 16-31, offer residents a unique opportunity to explore the history of their homes and neighbourhoods.

Using maps, local history publications, real estate photographs, post office directories and news clippings, participants will learn how to trace the history of their house.

Heritage Library team members will guide participants through the process.

Build on your home’s history by bringing a photo or a story to share with the group about your treasured local home.

Sessions are free and held across multiple library branches. Bookings are recommended to secure your place.

Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi peoples and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share. We wish to pay respect to their Elders – past, present and emerging, and acknowledge the important role First Nations people continue to play within the Sunshine Coast community.
