The States up-and-coming surf stars competed at the two-day event, showcasing Queensland’s brightest young talent across four divisions - Under 12 Girls, Under 12 Boys, Under 14 Girls, Under 14 Boys.

The winners of the 2023 Woolworths Queensland Grommet Titles Event One were crowned on Sunday (May 28) in clean, offshore, two-to-three foot waves at Coolum Beach. It was a spectacular day with an overnight increase in swell, making for an exciting final day of competition.

The Under 12 Girls Division was won by Evie Bawden (Noosa Heads) with a combined two wave score of 13.34 (out of a possible 20). She beat Navah Holmes, Billie Berg and Evie Johnston.

The Under 12 Boys Division was taken out by Jaxxon Sands (Palm Beach), with a 17.26 two-wave total. Sands took an early lead which proved too strong against his competitors.

The Under 14 Girls Division was a family feud between the Richardson and Rielly sisters. It was a see-saw battle for the win with all girls posting excellent scores. Rosie Richardson (Sunshine Beach) played the patience game which payed off to claim the top spot ahead of, Eliza Richardson, Savannah Rielly and Charlotte Rielly.

The under 14 boys were on fire all weekend. Kai Coleman (Peregian Springs) took the top honours with a 12.00. He overcame Cooper Rielly, Archie Fergusson and Lucas Deffenti.
