A wonderland of creativity, design and building is returning in time for the school holidays, with the wildly popular City Makers workshop now open for registrations.
The MET, in partnership with Wildlings and Sunshine Coast Council’s Living Smart initiative, will run the City Makers – Loose Parts Workshop across three days, encouraging kids aged 3-12 to create art, tinker, design and construct miniature cities and complete garden crafts.
Trained staff will help kids learn how to use the real hand-tools provided to bring their imaginings to life.
Colombian Coffee Co. will be open on site for hot drinks and tasty treats.
Show the young ones you value the planet and bring your own coffee cup if possible.
Previous City Builder programs have sold out, so you’ll need to act fast to book your tickets.

The workshop will provide a playground of miscellaneous materials from nature or repurposed from building sites, along with tools including hand saws, hammers and nails to build their creations.
Council’s Living Smart Program will provide activities to help children build a garden village using small loose parts, make tiny homes for tiny creatures from clay and natural materials, and make a bamboo trellis for climbing plants.
A parent must be present during the session and should directly supervise children aged under five who are using hand tools.
However, parents are otherwise encouraged to relax, socialise and give kids space to run wild.
