There are a number of free activities and events available for young people on the Sunshine Coast, with Youth Week kicking off on April 7 until April 13.

Youth Week is an opportunity to celebrate young people, their talents and the contribution they make to our Sunshine Coast community.

Sunshine Coast Council has partnered with Stockland to bring together a bigger and better Youth Fest this year to be held at Baringa Town Square on Tuesday, April 9. The event starts at 2pm and has something for everyone. There will be a Battle of the Bands competition, skate comp, food trucks, scooter and skate lessons, youth markets, job fair and so much more!

You can still enter your band into the Battle of the Bands competition, with registration open online. Be sure to enter for your chance to win a $3000 recording package with Yama-Nui Recording Studio.

Other events happening during the week include a basketball competition in Buderim, an art exhibition in Maroochydore, a surf experience at Kings Beach and a colour run in Meridan Plains.

Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi peoples and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share. We wish to pay respect to their Elders – past, present and emerging, and acknowledge the important role First Nations people continue to play within the Sunshine Coast community.
