In celebration of Indigenous Business Month, Sunshine Coast Council’s annual First Nations Supplier event returns on Thursday 24 October at Altitude Nine, Maroochydore with a free networking event and vibrant market-style exhibition.

First Nation's businesses, industry representatives and local buyers are invited to come together to strengthen business connections and foster stronger economic opportunities and partnerships.

The event will include presentations from industry experts, information and resources to support First Nations procurement, networking opportunities and an expo featuring up to 30 local businesses and their unique product offerings.

Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Rosanna Natoli said the First Nations Supplier Day showcased the diversity of local businesses on the Sunshine Coast.

“From labour hire to bushfoods and software development, there will be a diverse range of products on display to showcase our vibrant First Nations supplier market on the Sunshine Coast,” Mayor Natoli said.

“Our region’s First Nation’s enterprises are integral to our economy and this event offers direct access to networks that can help these businesses succeed by connecting with government, industry leaders and local buyers.

“Supporting events like this also aligns with our goals set out in Council’s Reconciliation Action Plan and Regional Economic Development Strategy which aim to increase procurement from First Nations Business and supply chains.

“I’m looking forward to attending the event and strongly encourage First Nations businesses and representatives from the business community to register.”
