The funniest whodunit you'll ever smell
Finnegan the Fart Detective is heading to The Events Centre these September school holidays, inviting young audiences and their families to don silent disco headphones and dive into a hilariously immersive mystery where every sound is a clue.
Get ready for a theatrical adventure unlike any other as Finnegan the Fart Detective transforms the Playhouse into a world of mystery, mischief and unforgettable laughs.
Presented by Arena Theatre Company and The Events Centre, this fast-paced interactive production puts sound at the heart of the storytelling. Audiences slip on silent disco headphones and are transported into the investigation, hearing every creak, squeak and suspicious splat through rich 3D audio.
The story follows Detective Finnegan and trusty sidekick Hamlet as they set out to solve the case of a very mysterious smell. Along the way, they encounter an eccentric cast of suspects, unexpected twists and even a giant crowd-surfing rat.
What makes the production truly unique is that every sound effect is created live on stage. Through live foley, original music and two performers playing multiple characters, audiences not only experience the story as it unfolds but also get a behind-the-scenes look at how theatrical magic is made.
Packed with outrageous humour, imaginative storytelling and interactive fun, the show offers a fresh and engaging experience for children aged 6 to 12 and the young at heart.
“An outstanding piece of theatre for young audiences. Watching the behind the scenes become the scenes – completely original. And so funny!” said one audience member.
Whether you're following the clues, laughing at the suspects or bracing for the next unexpected sound effect, Finnegan the Fart Detective promises a school holiday adventure that's heard, seen and smelled.
Grab your headphones, trust your nose and join the investigation this September.
