Nest boxes prove popular with the locals

This mother and baby were spotted in a cozy spot in Montville.

Brushtail Possum mother and baby snuggled in and cosy in the nesting box.

While out checking nest boxes in the peaceful Baroon Pocket Environment Reserve, Monvtille, Sunshine Coast Council came across this adorable short-eared Brushtail Possum mother and her baby in a nest boxes installed in a tree.

Nest boxes installed amongst the tree canopy help to mimic hollows that would otherwise take hundreds of years to develop naturally.

These hardwoods boxes were installed as part of an innovative trial to provide cosy homes for the Sunshine Coast’s tree loving wildlife.
