A swim or walk at one of the finest beaches in the world, shopping and catching up with friends for a bite to eat has never been easier.

This is thanks to the ParknGo Mooloolaba Central car park, which is conveniently located in the centre of this stunning seaside destination.

Sunshine Coast Council Built Group Executive Scott Taylor said from July 31, people could enjoy one-hour of free parking when they parked at the Mooloolaba undercover car park.

“The second and following hours will be charged at $2.50 per hour, capped at a maximum daily rate of $12.50,” Mr Taylor said.

“The new parking fees provide a user-pays schedule, paying for the time they use which is a similar approach to other paid parking facilities in the region.

“We understand that providing parking is a service to our community that needs to be balanced with repaying the construction loan and covering the operating costs for the multi-deck car park.

“The user-pays approach provides a fairer and more sustainable funding model to repay debt and service operating costs for the broader Sunshine Coast ratepayers.”
