Pooches to soon revel, roll and run

Sunshine Coast Council is looking into whether there’s community interest in extending the dog off leash area at Chancellor Park, Sippy Downs.

New dog park proposed for Chancellor Park Village

Sunshine Coast Council is looking into whether there’s community interest in extending the dog off leash area at Chancellor Park, Sippy Downs.

Dog parks play a vital role in our community as they provide a range of social and outdoor benefits for both fury friends and their owners.

What do you think?

Council is encouraging the community to share your feedback on the proposed extension by completing the Have Your Say survey before 5pm, Monday 22 August, 2023 on Council’s ‘Have your say’ website.

Project background

In 2018, Council developed a master plan encompassing all parks in Sippy Downs, including Chancellor Park.

This master plan was informed by valuable input from the community. As per the proposed master plan, the existing dog off-leash area has been identified for potential extension.

What happens after I provide feedback?

Community input received during this engagement phase will help council determine whether there’s demand to extend the existing dog off leash area at Chancellor Park.

If the idea receives substantial support, the expansion will be pursued in the coming years, subject to the availability of funding.

For more information about this project please visit council’s Have Your Say website.
