Wurtulla-nest.png

The Sunshine Coast's last critically endangered loggerhead turtle nest of the season finally hatched on Tuesday May 9, 2023 at Wurtulla Beach with 107 hatchlings making it to the ocean.

Thank-you to our amazing, dedicated TurtleCare and Coolum & North Shore Coast Care volunteers for a bumper season and to all of our community who have helped along the way.

We are compiling data and will be able to share our final stats soon.

This is actual footage of the little endangered loggerhead hatchlings making their way to the ocean at Wurtulla Beach.
