Fantastic demonstrations enthralled more than 3,000 people, many of them young families, at the Disaster Management and Emergency Expo, last weekend.

Local Disaster Management Group Chair and Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Mark Jamieson officially opened the event, alongside emergency services representatives, and Zeke Davis who performed the Welcome to Country.

The free Emergency Expo gave people the opportunity to thank Sunshine Coast’s hard-working, emergency service personnel for their efforts.

The Emergency Expo also had an important job to do - educate, protect and inspire our community for future disasters and emergencies.

Find out how to prepare yourself, your family, your home and your business ahead of any future disasters or emergencies the Sunshine Coast may face.

Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi peoples and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share. We wish to pay respect to their Elders – past, present and emerging, and acknowledge the important role First Nations people continue to play within the Sunshine Coast community.
