Queensland Premier Steven Miles today announced her appointment to the newly formed authority.

Mayor Natoli said the Games Venue and Legacy Delivery Authority was very fortunate to have someone the calibre of Ms Thomas take on this role.

“Emma’s leadership skills and her engineering, state infrastructure and local government experience put her in a good position to lead the authority,” Mayor Natoli said.

“I am delighted for Emma – personally and for the region.”

Ms Thomas has been appointed to the position for an initial period of six months, starting July 1.

She leaves Sunshine Coast Council on June 14.
