Community photos sought for new museum exhibition

The Sunshine Coast’s stunning night skies are set to take centre stage in a new exhibition, and residents are being invited to play a starring role.
Sunshine Coast Council’s The Night Sky exhibition will open at Landsborough Museum on 2 October, exploring the important role darkness plays in our lives, our environment and our connection to the stars.
As part of the exhibition, community members are invited to submit photographs of the Sunshine Coast night sky for the chance to be featured in a special digital display celebrating the region’s shared love of the stars.
Whether it’s the Milky Way stretching across a hinterland horizon, a moonlit landscape or favourite stargazing spot, locals are encouraged to share images that capture the beauty and wonder of the Sunshine Coast after dark.
With some of Australia’s most spectacular nightscapes right on our doorstep, the community photo display will showcase the places, moments and perspectives that make our region’s night sky so special.
