What is home? Enjoy inspiring evening of storytelling

Sunshine Coast Open House invites the community to a unique and inspiring evening of storytelling and connection at What is Home? #2, taking place on Friday, October 10, at the Coolum Civic Centre.

Attendee reading Open House book at Coolum Civic event.

This thought-provoking event brings together seven diverse speakers who will share personal reflections on what “home” means to them - exploring themes of sanctuary, identity, culture, memory and belonging.

It’s a night designed to spark conversation, build community and celebrate the many ways we define and experience home.

You’ll hear from Darren Percival, whose voice once soared on national TV, and Jack Lewis, a world champion body surfer who knows the ocean like a second home. There’s Lynn Scott, who finds home in wild places, and Trevor Purvis, whose art captures the soul of landscapes and lives.

Each story is a thread in a tapestry of shared experience — funny, moving, surprising and deeply human.

There’ll be lucky door prizes, audience participation and a vibe that’s welcoming to all ages.

Whether you come alone or with friends, you’ll leave feeling connected, inspired, and maybe even a little more at home.
