Skate and scoot: let the good times roll!
Something smooth, bold and built for speed just landed – and it’s ready for new tricks and fresh kicks.

Sunshine Coast Council has completed the Maleny Skate Park upgrade, delivering a dynamic new space for skaters, scooter riders, BMXers and spectators.
Located at the Maleny Showgrounds on Maleny Stanley River Road, the revamped facility features flat banks, hips, transition ramps, ledges and rails, with the previously upgraded half-pipe being retained and integrated into the new design.

A park by skaters, for skaters
The transformation was shaped through extensive consultation with the Maleny community and local riders, ensuring the final result reflected the needs and spirit of the region.
Division 5 Councillor Winston Johnston said the project was a testament to community collaboration.
“This is more than just a skate park – it’s a place of connection, creativity and movement,” Cr Johnston said.
“We’re proud to deliver a facility that encourages active lifestyles and brings people together.”
The park now includes new seating and landscaping, making it a welcoming space for families and spectators.
Designed for all skill levels, it offers a safe and exciting environment for everyone to enjoy.

This skate park development was funded with the support of the Queensland Government in association with Sunshine Coast Council.
Minister for Tourism and Member for Glasshouse Andrew Powell encouraged locals to get out and enjoy the new facility.
“The improved Maleny Skatepark is a great investment in our young people and in the future of our community. It gives our youth a safe, inclusive space to keep active, build confidence, and connect with friends.”
“I’ve been advocating for this project for many years, and I’m proud to see it become a reality.”
Cr Johnston thanked the Maleny community for their patience and input throughout the design and construction process.
“This is a great example of how we are connecting and engaging with our communities to build a better future for everyone.”
The park is now open and ready to roll!
