Here's what got you talking on our socials in 2024, check out the top 10 posts.
Our most engaged with social media posts this year were dominated by our incredible natural environment and the creatures who call it home.
Stunning Sunshine Coast locations to explore were clear favourites. In particular, our number one post featuring the scenic Buderim Forest Park to falls loop and a post about the brand-new trail leading to a breathtaking view in Coolum.
News the picturesque Glass House Mountains are the backdrop to season 2 of the Stan smash-hit Black Snow was highly celebrated. With many people excited to watch the new season once it comes out on New Year’s Day. Season 2 of the chilling murder mystery features Vikings star Travis Fimmel.
Many people reacted to news about trees being poisoned at Peregian Springs and Council’s warning to drivers after a feral deer was caught on dashcam crossing the Sunshine Motorway at Mooloolaba.
You loved the heartwarming footage of endangered loggerhead hatchlings first swim at Buddina Beach, and the unusual sighting at Bokarina Beach of a green sea turtle laying her nest during the day (instead of the usual night).
The Currimundi Lake closure and efforts by Council staff to try and re-open it generated lots of discussion and ratepayers were thrilled to be reminded they are eligible for two free trees twice a year.
There was huge support for the All Access Day at Dicky Beach, with our community showing up in great numbers for the free and fun day of inclusivity.
