Aileen is an artisan jeweller working from her studio in Maroochydore, which is full of an array of interesting tools, metals and colourful enamels. She specialises in creating wearable sculptures that are inspired by her long hikes in nature.

“My work represents a collection of thoughts and ideas inspired by my experiences in nature," Aileen said.

"As a hiker, I actively engage with the world around me, observing the intricate details of my surroundings—the rustle of leaves, the texture of bark, the patterns of light filtering through the canopy, snow on the mountains in the distance.

"These elements serve as a foundation for my creations. I do not seek to replicate nature; it is my inspiration.”

Aileen uses a variety of materials but mostly focuses on silver, copper, sometimes a little gold for a highlight and the addition of enamel to add a special vibrancy to a piece.

Her formal journey with jewellery began after finishing high school when she studied gold and silversmithing, but it has been a lifelong obsession to create.

Come in and see these unique creations in the Gallery Store during open hours. All artworks on display are original designs and available for purchase.
