Library volunteer helping a customer

Help us share stories, learning and connection across the Sunshine Coast by becoming a volunteer.

Sunshine Coast Libraries are putting a call out for volunteers to help make a real difference in our community.

Volunteering gives you the chance to be part of something meaningful, share your skills, meet new people and support a service that thousands rely on every year.

Many library services are available thanks to the help of volunteers.

In 2025, 180 volunteers contributed over 12,000 hours to deliver programs, assist customers and keep our libraries thriving.

From delivering books to those who can’t visit, to supporting literacy programs and preserving local history, volunteers help create opportunities for learning and connection.

Now is the perfect time to get involved and make an impact.

Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi peoples and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share. We wish to pay respect to their Elders – past, present and emerging, and acknowledge the important role First Nations people continue to play within the Sunshine Coast community.
