Library+ at Caloundra excitement as moving day approaches

The Caloundra Library is abuzz with excitement as staff prepare for the move to the new Library+ at Caloundra facility.

The former Caloundra administration building is being transformed into a state-of-the-art new district library and community space.

Between packing boxes, we asked our friendly libraries staff what they were most looking forward to at the new building, just across the road from the existing Caloundra Library.

I am really looking forward to all the flexible spaces that anyone can use.

You can get some reading done in the quiet lounge, focus your study group and ace your online exam in the library meeting rooms, collaborate with mates in the AV booths, tick off tasks at the BYO device benches, take in the view from the tiered seating while catching up on the latest news, or find your favourite table to progress your research.

When you need a break, you can browse a magazine in the lounge, help to complete the jigsaw puzzle in progress, or relax in the fresh air in the outdoor covered area.

There are so many things that I'm looking forward to about the new Library+ at Caloundra.

I think one of my favourite things within the new space is the tiered seating which is the entry into our library. But it also offers us a new way to do amazing events within that area which is going to be incredible.

I’m so excited for the STEM wall within the kids space. It just opens up so many things for activities for kids to do there with regards to marble runs and so many fun experiences.

The third thing I’m really excited about is our new quiet lounge which is an amazing area which gives our customers an opportunity to do things in a quiet environment.

I’m looking forward to a bigger library, bigger spaces for events and for the kids to run around. Should be good!
