Sunshine Coast Council is investigating reports of vegetation decline within the Dicky Beach Foreshore Reserve, including impacts to a mature Norfolk Pine.

Initial reports were received in early August 2026, prompting site inspections by Council officers. During these inspections, an unknown material was identified at several locations and samples were collected for chemical residue testing.

Council continues to monitor the site while awaiting the results of this testing, which are expected soon.

Council takes any suspected damage to public vegetation and environmental assets seriously. If the community has any information which may assist with the investigation, they are encouraged to call Council on 07 5475 7272.
