Did you know you can borrow seeds from Sunshine Coast Libraries?

You can access the Seed Library at Maleny and Kawana Libraries.

Seed libraries offer a collection of seeds for the community to swap in a sustainable manner. These seeds are from local and heirloom fruit and vegetable varieties as well as new local varieties including flowers.

The seed collection allows people to swap, grow and work towards seed sustainability and education in the Sunshine Coast region.

How does it work?

Library members are welcome to four seed packets per swap (once a month) to take home and grow. When your plant has grown and set seed, you can harvest some of these seeds to donate back to the seed library.

Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi peoples and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share. We wish to pay respect to their Elders – past, present and emerging, and acknowledge the important role First Nations people continue to play within the Sunshine Coast community.
