Flexible options available for rates payments
Rates notices have been issued and are due for payment by 21 August. Find out how to set up an interest-free arrangement and manage your rates in a way that suits you.

Sunshine Coast Council rates notices have now been issued and are due for payment by 21 August. Council is reminding ratepayers that flexible payment options are available.
Ratepayers can choose to pay their rates in smaller, more manageable fortnightly or monthly instalments through an interest-free payment plan, rather than making a single lump-sum payment. The option is designed to help ease financial pressure by providing greater flexibility and allowing ratepayers to spread payments over time without paying interest.
Ratepayers can sign up via MyCouncil before the payment due date by logging in or registering, selecting their property and choosing ‘create a payment arrangement – current rates owing with no arrears’.
To avoid interest charges, payment arrangements must be set up before the due date, paid in full by the end of the current half-yearly rating period, and maintained in line with the agreed instalments. A new arrangement is required each time a rate notice is issued.
