Council has adorned 26 trees across the region with eco-friendly LED lights and vibrant decorations, creating perfect destinations for family outings.

Whether you stroll beneath the glowing branches in Buderim, picnic under the twinkling lights in Montville or cruise past the dazzling display in Mooloolaba, there’s a festive stop near you to explore this holiday season.

Buderim: Village Green Park

This Green Flag award winning park is truly special and offers something wonderful for all to enjoy. Perched atop the Buderim plateau, this park offers sweeping views of our coastline, making it a favorited spot for locals and visitors. The gardens are vibrant and lush, changing with the seasons – perfect for a summertime picnic.

A central pavilion provides a shaded space for gatherings and events, while children can experience adventure in the playground. Pack a Christmas themed picnic and enjoy the open green space, play ball, fly a kite or just take in the expansive south-easterly vistas.

Cotton Tree: Cotton Tree Park

A family favourite, Cotton Tree certainly has plenty to offer with a playground stretching along the riverfront park and sheltered by the namesake cotton trees that grow abundantly along the banks of the river here.

With easy access to the calm waters of the riverfront, stay for swim, play or stroll along the Coastal Pathway and setup a picnic to bask in the beauty of the sunset. After sunset wander over to the sparkling tree near the Aquatic Centre for some Christmas cheer.

Mudjimba: Power Memorial Park

Nestled along the Mudjimba Esplanade, Power Memorial Park is a serene coastal escape perfect for festive family outings. This picturesque park offers shaded picnic areas, a spacious playground and direct beach access, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed evening under the glow of festive lights.

Stroll along the beachfront, enjoy a picnic by the dunes and take in the magical sparkle of the illuminated tree, creating a memorable holiday experience in this tranquil seaside setting.
