Blow that whistle ref – Caloundra Indoor Stadium is ready for play again!
A full roof replacement has been completed at the Sunshine Coast’s only four-court multi-purpose air-conditioned stadium.
Division 2 Councillor Terry Landsberg said the facility was now even better equipped for local sporting teams and competitions, major sporting events, exhibitions and trade shows.
“Caloundra Indoor Stadium is a mecca for indoor sports and events in our region,’’ Cr Landsberg said.
“With the works completed, it will provide an enhanced experience for the tens of thousands of competitors, spectators and visitors who will use the facility now and into the future.”
“As part of the roof replacement, 150kW of solar panels will also be installed on the roof, which is a major win for Council’s ongoing sustainability objectives.”
The centre is also sure to be a hit with more casual sporting enthusiasts, who are invited to come along and try something new to improve their fitness and meet new friends.
