Escape into the great outdoors these school holidays
Discover a peaceful bushland escape where stunning natural landscapes, abundant wildlife and family-friendly adventures await.

Discover a peaceful bushland escape where lagoons, towering native trees and family-friendly walking trails create the perfect outdoor adventure.
Set amongst 82 hectares of eucalypt and riparian forest at Tanawha, the Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden offers visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in nature while exploring a network of scenic walking tracks.
One of the most popular experiences is the Lagoon Walk, a gentle 1.2km circuit that follows the water's edge through open forest and rocky gullies. Along the way, walkers can enjoy remnant Bloodwood, Blue Gum and Tallowwood trees, while Piccabeen Palms and Tree Ferns flourish beneath the canopy.
The walk is suitable for most ages and abilities and provides plenty of opportunities to spot native wildlife, enjoy the peaceful surroundings and learn more about the region's natural environment.

School holiday adventures await
The Botanic Garden is also the perfect destination for families during the upcoming school holidays, with the return of the popular Bushland Holiday Program.
Designed to help children connect with nature and celebrate the seasons, the program features hands-on activities focused on wildlife habitats, science, art and bushcraft.
Activities include Journey-stick Adventure, Bush Artists, Habitat Makers and Little Scientists: Platypus, offering young explorers plenty of opportunities to discover, create and learn in a unique outdoor setting.
