Enjoy breathtaking coastal and hinterland views on this short but rewarding walk to one of Coolum's best-kept secrets.

Perched high above Coolum Beach, Lows Lookout offers spectacular 360-degree views that stretch across the coastline, the Pacific Ocean and the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

The popular walk has recently been enhanced with a new 74-metre trail section, providing a safer and more scenic off-road connection through natural bushland along part of the route.

Starting opposite Point Perry and Wilkinson Park, the trail climbs steadily towards the lookout, winding through a unique pocket of urban bushland and featuring numerous steps that add a sense of adventure to the journey.

Along the way, visitors can discover fascinating natural features, including a striking strangler fig wrapped around a brush box tree, hidden among the vegetation beside the trail.

At the summit, panoramic views provide the perfect backdrop for a picnic, sunrise walk or evening sunset. Visitors can also learn about the area's rich history, including its former name, Toboggan Hill, which was used for tobogganing during the 1920s, and the story of The Belly Stone, a site of local cultural significance.

Whether you're looking for a quick morning walk, a scenic photo opportunity or a new trail to explore, Lows Lookout delivers impressive views and a memorable outdoor experience just minutes from the heart of Coolum.
