Looking for a simple way to connect with nature and local history? The Buderim Tramway Trail offers a peaceful rainforest experience any day of the week, making it an ideal outing for residents and visitors alike.

Tucked away in Forest Glen, this hidden gem follows the route of the historic Buderim–Palmwoods tramway, once an important transport link for the region. Today, the former rail corridor has been transformed into a scenic walking trail that blends natural beauty with fascinating glimpses into the past.

A walk for everyone

The Buderim Tramway Trail is an easy, flat 4.2-kilometre return walk suitable for a wide range of users. Families, casual walkers, and those with limited mobility can all enjoy the track, which is largely wheelchair accessible. Dogs are also welcome when kept on a lead, making it a great option for a relaxed outing with the whole household.

Nature and history combined

As you follow the trail, you’ll find yourself immersed in a cool, shaded rainforest environment. Towering trees, lush fern gullies, and moss-covered undergrowth create a tranquil setting that feels a world away from everyday life.

Along the way, interpretive signage brings the story of the tramway to life, highlighting its role in supporting early settlement and industry in the region. These insights offer a meaningful connection to Buderim’s heritage, enriching what is already a beautiful nature walk.
