Coastal connection complete: Tooway Creek to Pelican Waters
A smoother, safer coastal journey is ready for our community to enjoy from Pelican Waters to Moffat Beach.

To make this possible, a new pathway took shape at Bells Esplanade, connecting into the region’s coastal pathway network.
The Jensen Park project delivered the missing link to complete over 12.5km of connected Coastal Pathway from Tooway Lake in Moffat Beach to the southernmost part of Pelican Waters at Bells Creek.
The project includes 165 metres of a three‑metre‑wide shared path, creating a continuous connection between the existing pathway at Bells Esplanade and the Keith Hill Park path.
The missing link has reduced conflict between pedestrians, cyclists and boat‑trailer traffic, offering a more enjoyable and predictable experience for all users.
To further enhance safety, works also include a new raised pedestrian crossing, making it easier for people to cross and increasing visibility for drivers.
Importantly, the project reflects a responsible, budget‑conscious approach - delivering targeted upgrades that improves safety and connectivity without the cost, ensuring strong value for community dollars.
Supported jointly by Sunshine Coast Council and the Queensland Government’s Cycle Network Local Government Grant Program, the project has also been designed with the future in mind, ensuring it will integrate seamlessly if upgrades become required to the nearby boat ramp and car park.
Construction began early March and was completed by end April.
