Libraries staff get into the spirit of Book Week.

Embrace the magic of reading with your budding bookworms this Children’s Book Week.

From August 17 to 23, kids across the country will celebrate books, children’s authors and illustrators.

During Book Week, be sure to come along to Storytime or Rhymetime at your local Sunshine Coast Council library in your best costume, inspired by your favourite children’s books.

Storytime (suitable for ages two to five-years) helps little people discover the magical world of books and reading, while Rhymetime (suitable for ages zero to two-years) helps babies develop vital pre-literacy and language skills.

With youngsters throughout the region sporting Book Week costumes, parents and caregivers can enter the Sunshine Coast Libraries Book Week Hero Competition for the chance to win a book pack.

It’s quick and easy, simply snap a photo of your child in their outfit and submit it via the Sunshine Coast Libraries website.

The pack features books from 10 amazing Australian authors.

Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi peoples and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share. We wish to pay respect to their Elders – past, present and emerging, and acknowledge the important role First Nations people continue to play within the Sunshine Coast community.
