Highlights
This pathway is well known by locals (and often referred to as the “Lake Kawana loop”) – a short little adventure that enables you to cross the Mooloolah River on a cement causeway with parklands on either side. Given the urbanised surrounds it is a surprisingly peaceful location.
Strategically placed benches provide rest stops in the shade and with views of the river. At the half-way mark, leave the main path and walk up to the bridge, cross the road at the roundabout and walk down to re-join the main path for the remainder of the walk on the other side of the lake.
Afterwards
The nearby Mooloolah River National Park has many other trails for you to explore, or head east to the nearby beaches for a swim.
Alternatively, journey another 1km around Lake Kawana to Double Bay Park where you’ll find a beach area, amenities, shelters and children’s playground, along with some lovely cafes overlooking the water.
How to get there
From Kawana Way, turn west into Premier Circuit and immediately turn right at the T-junction. Following the road around to the left, the start of the walk is at the park on the right. Parking is on the street.
