Suitability

Suitable for walkers, with most of the trail suited to prams, wheelchairs and recreational cyclists – a few steps and water to negotiate at the end near Reynolds Crossing if you choose to cross over. Dogs are welcome on lead.

Highlights

Also known as the “Peace in the Trees Sculpture Walk”, The Maleny Trail features many inspirational art works sculpted by local artists, inviting people to contemplate and reflect on the natural environment - a unique community endeavour.

The trail is a pretty excursion along Obi Obi Creek, from the heart of town, out past the golf course and then around Reynolds Crossing Circuit.

The walk starts on the wide boardwalk near Woolworths, then along a smooth paved rolling section beside an estate, suitable for some wheelchairs

Revegetation has recently been completed on the trail, with over 54,000 trees planted to date on this 126 hectare former farm.

The Reynolds Crossing Circuit is short but with steps. Take off your shoes if you want to cross Obi Obi Creek and make sure you keep your eye out for platypus.

Afterwards

There are picnic places and bush toilets at Gardners Falls, nearby.

If you want to have a varied walk on your way back stay on the same side of the creek and do a loop around Maleny Golf Course, taking Obi Lane and Porters Lane to reconnect to the cement section of the trail.

How to get there

Head to the roundabout at the junction of Maple, Coral and Bunya Streets and find a car park close by. The walk starts about 10 metres from the roundabout on the same side of the road as Woolworths, on the creek bank opposite – you can’t miss the boardwalk.
