Act now to build a future-ready Sunshine Coast
Whether you support the proposed planning scheme or have concerns, we want to hear from you. Now is the time to make a submission and help shape the future of the Sunshine Coast.

Do you want to have your say on shaping the future of your neighbourhood and the wider region? There’s still time!
Community consultation on the proposed Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme closes on September 19.
Sunshine Coast Mayor Rosanna Natoli said that Council wanted to hear from as many voices as possible.
“Whether you agree with the proposed plan or not, we encourage you to make a submission. It’s absolutely vital,” Mayor Natoli said.
“This is about shaping a Sunshine Coast we all want – now and into the future.
“The proposed planning scheme sets out zones, building heights, design standards and much more. It ensures we have enough land set aside for homes, green spaces, community facilities and business, while planning for a climate-resilient future.
“It’s a critical part of guiding how the region evolves over the coming decades – making sure our community is connected, liveable and thriving.
“The future of the Sunshine Coast depends on you!”
Any questions? We are here to help
Over the past eight weeks, Council has welcomed the opportunity to hear community views, explain the proposed planning scheme in detail and respond to questions.
“We’re so grateful that our community has been so engaged in this process,” Mayor Natoli said.
“Our planning experts have been busy meeting with locals at face-to-face information sessions across the region, as well as answering emails, phone calls and assisting people right herein Maroochydore.
“There is still time to get the information you need and in a way that suits you.”

“This is a formal process guided by legislation, and making a ‘properly made submission’ ensures your views are considered.”
