Ready, set, leap: new program empowers local businesses
Calling all local innovators, startups and scale-ready ventures! Take your business to new heights by joining this exciting new program.
Silicon Coast, a leading nonprofit fostering innovation on the Sunshine Coast, is proud to announce the launch of the LEAP FWD Accelerator and Incubation Program in partnership with Australian Computer Society (ACS Labs), Sunshine Coast Council and several Regional Industry Groups.
Supported by the Advanced Queensland Regional Enablers Grant 2024, this initiative will provide three years of targeted support to local innovators, startups and scale-ready ventures.
The program focuses on uniting the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, fostering innovation through education and mentorship and accelerating business growth via resources, funding and expert networks.
Silicon Coast Co-Founder Craig Josic said LEAP FWD represented a bold step in positioning the Sunshine Coast as a regional hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
“Through this partnership with ACS Labs, we are breaking down barriers for local innovators, providing them with the tools, mentorship and resources needed to thrive in today’s competitive landscape,” Mr Josic said.
“Together, we’re not just supporting businesses; we’re building a future-ready community."
ACS Labs Head of Growth Laura Ashmole shared her excitement.
“Since the launch of ACS Labs in 2024, we’ve been proud to support founders across Australia in scaling and solving global challenges through technology,” Mrs Ashmole said.
Sunshine Coast Council Resilient Economy Portfolio Councillor Terry Landsberg encouraged local businesses to apply.
“Providing opportunities for local entrepreneurs to start, grow and scale is a key feature of the Sunshine Coast Regional Economic Development Strategy, and this program is a great example of how we can incubate and accelerate innovation in our region,” Cr Landsberg said.
The LEAP FWD Accelerator and Incubation Program offers two key streams:
- Incubation Program: Foundational support for early-stage startups with mentorship, resources and skill development.
- Accelerator Program: Intensive growth-focused support for scale-ready ventures, including investment preparation, market access and expert mentorship.
Applications are now open until 31 January 2025.
