Sunshine Coast Council has a number of closures over the Easter break, however if you need council, there are ways to contact us.

Council’s after-hours emergency call centre will operate 24 hours a day via the customer service number 5475 7272.

Non-urgent matters can be logged any time via Council’s online portal MyCouncil. The portal allows you to do business with council online at your convenience.

All Customer Contact counters and reception desks will close at 4.30pm today, April 14 and will re-open on Tuesday, April 19.

Roadside waste and recycling collections will continue as per the normal schedule, even on public holidays. Council’s Resource Recovery Centres remain open as normal. Check council’s website for operating hours for all of council’s waste and resource recovery centres.

Sunshine Coast Libraries and the Mobile Library service will be closed over the Easter period. Don’t forget the e-library has thousands of online resources to choose from 365 days a year.

The Sippy Creek Animal Pound will be closed during the Easter period.

Bankfoot House will be closed on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday, re-opening on Wednesday, April 20.

The natural jewel of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve is a great place to visit. The reserve is open daily between 7am-6pm. The Rainforest Discovery Centre will be closed Good Friday and Easter Sunday, otherwise it will be open daily between 9.30am-3.30pm.

Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden at Tanawha is also a great day out, it will be open daily from 7am-5pm.

Residents are encouraged to check their local pool’s web page or social media page for opening hours across the Easter period.

A friendly reminder that parking regulations in our region remain in place during the Easter period, so please check the comprehensive guide to parking your car legally on the Sunshine Coast on council’s website.

Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Country, home of the Kabi Kabi peoples and the Jinibara peoples, the Traditional Custodians, whose lands and waters we all now share. We wish to pay respect to their Elders – past, present and emerging, and acknowledge the important role First Nations people continue to play within the Sunshine Coast community.
